Why Splint?

Splinting is one of the most important tools in healing your core — but it's widely misunderstood. A splint is not a brace, a corset, or a quick fix. Used correctly, it's an active part of your rehabilitation. A Tummy Team splint is a medical-grade, non-constricting abdominal support designed to work with your body, not instead of it. Its job is to reinforce the functional use of your transverse abdominis (TVA) — the deepest layer of your core musculature and the foundation of true core strength.

When worn properly, splinting works in three ways:

Remind

The splint gives your body constant tactile feedback, reminding you to engage your core throughout daily life — something most of us have forgotten how to do.

Reinforce

It provides temporary external support for your spine and organs while your core rebuilds, allowing you to move safely and confidently during rehabilitation. For those healing diastasis recti, it also helps bring the two sides of the abdominal wall together, creating the right environment for healing.

Reconnect

After injury, pregnancy, or prolonged weakness, the TVA can become neurologically disconnected. Splinting helps restore communication between your brain and your core so the muscle can learn to fire again.

What Makes Ours Different

Many abdominal binders on the market — including those available at hospitals or through online retailers — are built for short-term, post-surgical use. The materials wear down quickly, the Velcro deteriorates, and the construction simply isn’t made to last.We took the proven fit of those standard binders and completely rebuilt it. Every detail of the Tummy Team Splint — the fabric, stitching, and Velcro — has been reinforced for durability and daily wear over the months your rehabilitation requires. Our splints are exclusively designed for The Tummy Team and are available only through us or a Tummy Team-endorsed practitioner.

Full Transverse Abdominis Coverage

Our splint covers the entire transverse abdominis, including the belly button — the most vulnerable area for diastasis recti. Unlike designs that loop above and below the belly, ours provides complete, continuous support where it matters most.

Multiple Panel Sizes for Every Body

We offer 2-panel, 3-panel, and 4-panel options to accommodate a wide range of torso sizes — including shorter torsos and use with children when clinically appropriate.

Rehabilitative — Not Restrictive

A splint that does all the work for you is not a rehab splint. Our design provides firm, supportive approximation of the abdominal wall while still allowing for the natural movement of daily life. You need your body to learn to move correctly — the splint guides and supports that process, rather than replacing it.

Splinting Is One Part of the Journey

A splint is a powerful tool — but it's only one piece of the puzzle. True core rehabilitation means retraining the way you breathe, move, and engage your body in everything you do. That's why The Tummy Team takes a comprehensive approach that goes beyond the splint. Our online rehabilitation programs are built around the same foundational principles: remind, reinforce, and reconnect. Through guided exercise, education, and ongoing support, we help you rebuild your core from the inside out — so that eventually, you won't need the splint at all. That's the goal. We always recommend using a splint in conjunction with one of our rehabilitation programs, not as a standalone solution. The splint supports your healing; our programs teach your body how to move, strengthen, and function for the long term.
